Future Releases
Mudthumper Music is in posession
of some vintage Busted
Toe Mudthumper tapes from 1969 recorded in Hollywood and Berkeley,
which would make an interesting CD. They are a bit rough, but the spirit
shines through. They were a young band with ideas of their own.
Currently
looking for more tapes to round them out. Anyone with tapes or leads is
welcome to email Walt.
Also
announcing release of a "Highwoods
Live"
CD, a mixture of live recordings from various venues from the
mid-70's.
Hot!
Walt has plans for a CD full of tunes on the five-string
which he learned playing plectrum banjo in a traditional New Orleans
style
jazz band. These tunes are not far outside the old-time fiddle tune
tradition,
are fun to play, and will make banjo players' fingers gnarly!
Mudthumper also has plans to release Clare Milliner's
collection of over 1400 fiddle tunes in standard music notation, along
with references
to source recordings, and a database of the work searchable by title,
fiddle tuning, key, source, and collector. These tunes, as computer
files, will contain
midi files, which could also be made available for people who just
can't figure
out how to read music. More info on the homepage,
and on the Brandywine FOTM
site.
